Hello and goodbye in European Portuguese
This lesson opens Unit 1, Hello! (Olá!), an A1 unit in which you greet people, say please and thank you, and introduce yourself. It teaches 7 words and phrases, including olá (hello), bom dia (good morning) and boa tarde (good afternoon), and uses them in 8 example sentences. By the end you can say things like Boa noite, até logo (“Good night, see you later”). The unit’s grammar notes cover “Bom dia, boa tarde, boa noite” and “Obrigado or obrigada?”.
